Weyerhaeuser Company Headquarters
|
|
| Weyerhaeuser's corporate headquarters is this Skidmore, Owings & Merrill-designed building near Tacoma, built in 1971. The company was founded in Washington with the 900,000 acre purchase of forest land by Frederick Weyerhaeuser over 90 years ago, and is now the largest private landowner in the state, with 1,570,000 acres. Though most of the company's land is for logging, Weyerhaeuser's real estate division develops land for other purposes. The company is among the nation's top ten house builders, with five major developments underway in the Puget Sound area alone, creating homes for 36,000 people, as well as several commercial business parks, and developments in other states. |
