Aker Gulf Marine Ingleside Yard

| Assembly facility for Aker Maritime, a major offshore oil rig manufacturer. Huge rigs are assembled here and at Aker's Aransas Pass yard, located three miles north on the Intracoastal Waterway. The yard covers 180 acres, and has direct access to the Gulf of Mexico via the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. Some of the largest offshore drilling structures in the world have ben assembled here, including the 50,000-ton, 1,350-foot-tall Bullwinkle jacket. |
