NASA rocket and propulsions R&D lab, and field test facility. Used primarily for large scale and hazardous testing. Located on 94 square miles within the 4,000 square mile White Sands Missile Range, it is considered a component of NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. This is one of the few NASA facilities which is not accessible to the public. Over 500 people are employed here.
