Description:	A large and diversified federal R&D lab, owned by the Department of Energy and operated by the University of Chicago. Facilities include particle accelerators and a nuclear reactor; more than half of the research here is in energy and nuclear energy research. It is located on a 1,700 acre installation, and employs 4,300 people. The faciity houses the New Brunswick nuclear measurements lab, and has an additional 800 acre installation at the Idaho National Engineering Lab, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
